The Vhembe Biosphere Reserve is governed under the UNESCO Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme by the MAB Secretariat, which implements the mandate from the International Co-ordinating Council, and the South African National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) MAB Focal Point. The Vhembe Biosphere NPC, a Non-Profit Company registered in the Republic of South Africa, is the governing body of the biosphere reserve, with an elected Board. Our Programme Director and management team oversee the day-to-day administration of the organisation and implementation of projects and work programmes. You can contact us here.
