MEET OUR TEAM
Since 2009, the activities of the VBR were executed by a group of dedicated local volunteers, which operated under the direction of an elected representative Board-structure, comprising of up to 12 board members, who were also volunteers. In 2013, the VBR Non-Profit Company was established according to the Companies Act of 2008, the Board is elected at the annual AGM and directors may serve for a three-year term.
For the period May 2017-April 2018, a Biosphere Coordinator was employed part-time. There are five sub-committees to the VBR NPC namely: 1) Communications and Awareness; 2) Conservation; 3) Institution and Finance; 4) Research and Education; and, 5) Development, each with its own chairperson who reports directly to the VBR board of Directors. The Board comprises a Chairperson, Vice Chair, a Secretary, Treasurer and board members, which appoints the coordinator and chairs with members of five task teams.
